We have something for everyone! Whether it is for indoors or outdoors, for around the house or on the job, Owenhouse Ace Hardware and The Bike Shop are here to fill your needs. Our hardware store, located on Main Street in Historic Downtown Bozeman, stocks a full line of everything from nails to Weber Grills. We can supply your needs for paint, electrical, plumbing, tools, housewares, and lawn and garden items. Right around the corner, on South Black Ave. is our second building which offers Diamondback, Rocky Mountain, Haro, Giant bicycles and more, along with fitness equipment, Honda and Toro lawn mowers and snow blowers, Stihl chainsaws and Troybilt rototillers. We also offer water pump installation and repair, small appliance parts and repair, small engine repair, as well as the other services you will see listed on this site.

 FROM 1879 TO 2002
Owenhouse Ace Hardware was originally formed in 1879 under the name "Benepe and Davidson". As the years went by, ownership changes were reflected in the name which changed to Benepe Owenhouse Co. and eventually just Owenhouse Hardware. We were formerly located in the building across Main Street from the Baxter Hotel, and you can still make out the word "Benepe" on the west side of that building.
We were originally a general merchandise store selling hardware, farm implements, buggies, wagons, hay and grain, and Mr. Owenhouse was originally a saddle maker. Although he sold his interest in the business to Whitfield Spain in 1926, his name continues on.
There have been many changes over the years. We were an International Harvester truck and farm tractor dealer for many years in the space now occupied by the bicycles and lawn mowers. We affiliated with the Ace Hardware Coop in 1964 in order to take advantage of their buying power and national advertising. In 1983 we expanded the hardware store to the west into the building formerly occupied by Woolworths. Owenhouse Ace Hardware continues to be locally owned and operated, and continues to change with the times to meet your needs.
